In Bengaluru, BBMP officials have reported a significant reduction in sewage flow into the Koramangala stormwater drain, from 120 million litres per day (MLD) to approximately 8 MLD, following the implementation of the K-100 Urban Waterway Project. Despite this claim, residents and businesses neighboring the drain have noted that the foul odor persists and sewage-mixed water continues to flow. The K-100 project, receiving a government allocation of Rs 175 crore, focuses on redeveloping the drain infrastructure along a 9.2-km stretch from KR Market to Bellandur Lake. The BBMP engineering team anticipates completion of the project by the end of 2024.

Efforts to prevent sewage from entering the Koramangala Rajakaluve include the establishment of a 5 MLD capacity sewage treatment plant at Kumbaragundi near Kalasipalya. Additionally, BBMP has installed concrete rings and vegetation near Shantinagar to naturally filter and purify the water. The BWSSB is also constructing a sewage treatment plant near Shantinagar, scheduled for completion by year-end to further prevent sewage inflow.

Various enhancements have been made along the rajakaluve, including the construction of retaining walls, ground-level bridges, decorative lighting, landscaping, granite installations, pedestrian pathways, and safety grills. Service roads have been built on both sides of the drain alongside pipelines to prevent rainwater from seeping into the drain. The BBMP initiated the project in 2021 with the goal of comprehensively transforming the area.To complete it by 2023. However, it missed multiple deadlines thereafter.
